Dell' Rooster Restaurant & Bar

We went there for brunch on a Saturday and the place was not packed. We were immediately seated. It was during Chicago restaurant week so could order from the special menu or regular menu. I ordered potatoes for first course which was very tasty and huge portion. The second dish was chicken & waffle, that was even tastier and portion was also decent. The last dish was the dessert which was the tres leches. The dessert was incredible, and the flavors were on point. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience!

This is a cute spot in West Town for creative Latin American fusion dishes. We made a reservation for a Saturday night, but it wasn’t too crowded and you could’ve easily walked in without one. Though pricey (total price 50 per person), the portions were large and I think many of the dishes were worth the price in taste and quality. True to its name, it’s decorated with a strong rooster theme throughout. The service was very friendly and reasonably quick. This is a spot I’d love to come back to on a special or splurge occasion to try more of their menu. Food I tried: - Rabo Encendido (4.6/5): This was excellent and flavorful, with the perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors, soft and creamy textures... a must-try appetizer for sure. - Short Rib Barbacoa (4.7/5): Ahh this was my favorite dish here. The grits were so creamy and meat was so tender, just an amazing mix of textures and flavors all around. - Bife a Caballo (Medium) (4/5): The steak was just okay, but we should've ordered medium rare instead of medium, which was a lot tougher and drier than expected. The flavors were solid, but I probably won’t pay 35 for it again. - Abuelita Tres Leches (3.5/5): The only true “miss” of the night— it was not a very moist cake and was strangely hard on the bottom.

I had a great time at Dell’ Rooster! I came for Chicago Restaurant week and the food quality and portions blew me away! I started with the Papas Bravas which had a semi-soft potato with a crunch in the outer part. The sauce drizzled on it was fantastic. Next, I got the Short Rib Skillet which was full of flavors, different vegetable, aromas, and a great quantity of short rib. I was afraid they would skimp on the meat, but they did not disappoint! Finally, I got the Chocolate Abuelita Tres Leches which was a nice touch to top of the great meal! The service was fantastic and Ricardo the manager was very helpful and friendly, ensuring my experience was top notch. My server Yolanda was also amazing and super quick with everything! Highly recommend to anyone who is in the West Town area!

I am super surprised that there isn’t a line out this place. I ordered the Rooster & Waffles - chicken was moist and the waffles were lightly coated in pearl sugar. Just perfect! My mom had the Rabo Encendido. She loved the plantains but wished there was more Ox Tail.

We had a great meal at Dell' Rooster last night. Every dish was amazing and the chef brought us all a sample of his signature appetizer which was a braised oxtail dish served over plantains. We were a party of seven and everyone was very impressed. I highly recommend you check this place out!

This place is AMAZING!! The food is absolutely delicious, the coffee and mimosas are on point and the staff is wonderfully attentive!!! Came here for brunch with my sisters for Sunday Funday and will definitely be coming back!!! We tried the chilaquiles, the enchiladas, jibarito, the pancakes, the corn empanadas and the dates...EVERYTHING was fresh and the flavors were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!! Highly highly recommend you pay this cute place a visit!!!

We had such a great experience here. As a hungry group of three, we shared several small plates and several mains. The plantains with oxtail were delicious, as were the coconut shrimp. I loved the corn empanadas. Every thing we ordered was flavorful, warming,, so well done. Our server was kind and attentive. And the head chef came to check on us at the end of our meal. Can’t recommend enough.

Can’t believe it took so long to come here, but it was worth the wait! Great breakfast burrito and tacos. Tasty dinner menu! Neighborhood gem!
